About Not Another Christmas Letter! The Musical

NOT ANOTHER CHRISTMAS LETTER! THE MUSICAL is an original musical comedy unfolding in a series of comic and poignant vignettes with four actors bringing 46 characters to life celebrating everything that drives us crazy about Christmas . . . and why we love it anyway.

Think of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change . . . for the holidays. From receiving that first obnoxious Christmas letter to taking the family picture, from dealing with in-laws, to facing unassembled gifts on Christmas Eve, Not Another Christmas Letter! The Musical shows why sometimes we want to sing “Wreck the halls!” and then why we’re wistful when Christmas is over.

[su_quote cite=”– Angela Shultz & Melissa Harlow Stomping Ground Theatre Co New York”]“It is absolutely true that CHRISTMAS LETTERS took our new theatre company to a new level. With its highly witty, engaging script and score, the show is a non-stop journey full of laughter and touching moments — the best of both worlds! We heard from several members of our sold-out house who said they couldn’t wait to see it again. It’s clear that audiences crave new classics to add to their favorite holiday shows…it’s just the ticket!”[/su_quote]

Maio Is Powerful As Clooney At Her Low Ebb

This afternoon I went to see “Tenderly,” the story of Rosemary Clooney, with Deanna Maio as Clooney and Mace Archer in a half-dozen roles that he adroitly jumps among at will. It is playing at the Samaritan Lodge in Milwaukie, which is a MUCH better venue for this company. I was overwhelmed by how far Deanna has come in her dramatic acting ability in the past few years. Of course, Clooney’s story, institutionalized and under a psychologist's care for most of this performance, is a transformative one in which she finally survived alcohol and drug dependence and finally prospered. Deanna’s portrayal of the tragic Clooney had me in tears, identifying with what Rosie went through to redirect her life at its lowest point. The stage play was wonderful to begin with, and Deanna rendered the Clooney songs in Rosie’s subdued way that was just right. It was a powerful script and, I’m pleased to say, a powerful performance by both actors, one which left me emotionally drained. If you get a chance, you might want to put this on your agenda -- two more weekends to go in November.

The show includes a 15 minute intermission and concessions will be available for purchase.
